Madalena Boto

Madalena Boto first studied biology but her interest in photography and cinema led her to find ways to communicate science rather than making it. In 2009 she completed her MA in Wildlife Documentary Production and produced her first film "Priolo", about the endemic Azores bullfinch, as her thesis project. Since then she has worked on a variety of productions and recently published her first articles on National Geographic Portugal magazine. “The Desert Islands” is her second film as director, editor and writer.
